Hi and welcome to my website!

My name is Patricia Blair and I have been an artist my entire life. At this time, I am an artist who designs and creates felt dolls, papier mache characters, and altered art glass. Pictures and descriptions of my creations can be viewed via the "Categories" menu on the left.

I have been designing and making wool felt character dolls for the last twenty years. The dolls are made in the same style as the wonderful German antique Steiff felt character dolls. Each doll is designed and handmade entirely by me. Each doll is jointed at the neck, shoulders, and hips and is made with 100% European wool felt and mohair hair. Also, each doll has glass eyes. These unique characters are not made for children to play with, but for collectors to appreciate and enjoy. Most of the dolls stand 16" tall, with a few being taller. The Golliwog characters are made of wool felt and mohair. They range in size from 16" to 21" tall.

I designed and made mohair teddy bears in the 1980's and some of them were pictured in teddy bear books. I also designed the "Birth Stone" bear for Ashton Drake in 1997. My teddy bears are known as "Blair Bears".

I have also been designing and creating papier mache characters for the past twenty years as well. Each one is unique and a "one-of-a-kind". Each character is made of papier mache (newspaper strips & wallpaper paste) and papier clay. I like to make candy containers, so some of the characters are containers that will hold candy or secret treasures. My favorite holiday is Halloween so this is my main theme of characters, but I also create a few Christmas characters too.

The altered art glass mirrors are my latest creative art. I used to make stained glass windows so this craft was right up my alley. I love creating something new and different from recycled antique bone china saucers, antique figurines, and antique doll heads. Each mirror is a "one-of-a-kind" and definitely a conversation piece. I hope you enjoy looking at my creations as much as I enjoy making them. Keep checking back often as I will be adding new characters and mirrors every few weeks. Please e-mail me with any comments or questions. Thanks for visiting!

Best Regards,
Patricia Blair
